I love dogs. I remember begging my parents for years to get a dog until finally, when I was seven years old, they loaded my sister and I into the station wagon and drove us to the local Humane Society. Once there, they led us to a pen full of puppies. This may well have been the best day of my young life. We brought home a beautiful border collie/malamute pup that we named Bear. He grew into a 75-pound wolf look-alike; he was my best friend, my partner in crime, my protector, my teacher, and my ticket to freedom. It instantly became clear to me: life is better with dogs.
I went on to care not only for my own dogs but countless others as well. Over the years, I’ve been the "go-to girl" for friends, family, and neighbors whenever they needed help with their beloved pets.
I moved back to the Bay Area a number of years ago to help care for my mother. Given my limited time, I started dog walking professionally to help fill in around the edges. This was such a gift. I find the company of dogs to be both joyful and meditational; their playfulness, enthusiasm, and affection were welcome distractions during a challenging time.
During this time period, I also lost my beloved Nika (whose picture graces my business cards and website), so I was extra grateful for the company of dogs.
Now, all these years later, my side hustle has expanded into a business. I specialize in small group walks. I walk my packs off leash in open space, ensuring each dog receives plenty of attention, socialization and exercise. I vary the location of these walks, offering novel scents, sights and sounds to challenge your dog’s brain and stave off boredom.
I do not take the responsibility entrusted to me lightly. You will not find me on the phone or plugged into a podcast; instead, I am watching where your dog puts their nose and where they step. I am constantly listening and watching for any potential dangers. I bring a high level of care, experience, and love to my work. You and your dog deserve no less!
I currently serve clients in the Fairfax and San Anselmo area exclusively.
